Delete your finwe account

You can delete your finwe account and its data at any time. Deleting in the phone app happens right away and can’t be undone.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open finwe on your phone and go to the Profile tab.
  2. Tap Edit next to your name. The Edit My Account screen opens.
  3. Scroll down and tap Delete My Account.
  4. Type DELETE (the word shown on screen) and tap Delete My Account.

Your account is deleted on our servers straight away, you are signed out, and finwe also clears what it kept on that phone, including its widgets. Accounts can’t be deleted from the web app (web.finwe.app); use the phone app.

Delete it without the app

Email privacy@finwe.app and ask us to delete your account. Send it from the email address you use for finwe, so we can tell the account is yours.

We answer within 30 days at the latest.

What is deleted

  • Your profile: name, email address, password and profile photo.
  • Everything in your personal space: your income and expenses, accounts, allowance account, goals, trips and personal shopping lists.
  • Your notification settings and the device identifiers used to send them.
  • If you are the only person in your shared budget, the shared budget too, with everything in it.

What stays in a shared budget

  • The records you added to the shared budget stay for the other members and ownership passes to the founder. Your name is removed from them; your trip expenses and goal contributions are shown under the founder’s name from then on.
  • If you are the founder, the member who joined the shared budget earliest becomes the founder.
  • In the other members’ notification list in the app, “Deleted user” is shown instead of your name; notifications already delivered to their devices do not change.
  • Our infrastructure provider may keep short-lived technical security logs for a limited time.

Cancel your store subscription separately

Deleting your finwe account does not cancel a subscription you bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings, before or after you delete your account.
