Terms of Use
Last updated:
These terms govern the relationship between you and the person who provides finwe. By using finwe, you accept them.
1. Who we are
finwe is an app developed and offered by Hakan Yoldaş (Türkiye). It consists of the iOS and Android app and the web app that runs in your browser (web.finwe.app). In this text “we” means that person, “you” means the person using finwe, and “the app” means both together.
You can reach us at privacy@finwe.app about anything.
2. What finwe does and does not do
finwe helps you track income and expenses, plan a budget, see your payments on a calendar, set savings goals, share your budget with your partner, family or roommates, and run the shopping list at home together, based on the information you enter.
finwe is NOT a bank, payment institution, investment adviser or financial consultant. It does not connect to your bank account, your card or any financial institution, and it does not move money on your behalf.
Shares in a shared budget, who owes whom how much, settle-ups and allowances are RECORDS ONLY: they are calculated from the expenses members enter and the rules chosen. finwe does not send, receive or hold money between you; you make any payments between yourselves in your own way.
Nothing in the app (including the notes shown by the “we” assistant) is investment advice, financial consulting, or legal or tax guidance. Your financial decisions are your responsibility; consult a qualified professional for important ones.
The “we” assistant’s notes are calculated on your device, using fixed rules, from the records entered. Estimates such as the month-end forecast are based on spending so far and may differ from what actually happens; a missing or wrong entry can also make a note misleading. Their accuracy is not guaranteed.
Calculations in the app are based on the data entered. Missing or incorrect input produces incorrect results.
3. Your account
You create your account in the phone app, with a valid email address. On the web app you can only sign in with an existing account. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide.
Keeping your password confidential is your responsibility, and you are responsible for activity carried out with your account. If you believe your account has been accessed without permission, change your password immediately and let us know. When you sign in to the web app on a shared computer, untick “Remember me” and sign out when you are done.
An account should be used by one person. You share your budget with others through a shared budget; that is not the same as sharing your account.
You can delete your account at any time in the phone app: Profile → Edit My Account → Delete My Account. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. The Privacy Policy explains what happens to your records in a shared budget.
4. Shared budget
You can set up a shared budget (you become its founder) or join someone’s shared budget with an invitation code. You can be in only one shared budget at a time. A shared budget set up with your partner or family has two people; one set up with roommates has up to 6.
Only the founder can create invitation codes. Share a code only with someone you trust; codes expire after 7 days. If you are the founder, you decide who to invite.
Everyone in a shared budget sees the shared records. Every member can edit income, expenses, accounts, categories, goals and trips; the person who added them and the founder can delete them. Goal contributions and trip expenses can be changed only by the person who added them; any member can delete allowance records. The founder can remove members and change the shared budget’s name, money setup and split rule. The Privacy Policy explains in detail who sees what.
You can leave a shared budget at any time; the records you added stay in it. If the founder leaves, another member becomes the founder.
We are not responsible for the accuracy of records in a shared budget, for content added by members, or for agreements and payments between members.
5. Trial, subscription and fees
When you create your account, everything is free for 35 days. No card is needed for the trial, and it does not turn into a paid subscription by itself.
If you have no subscription when the trial ends, you can still see your data; adding new records and changing your records requires a subscription. You can always leave a shared budget and delete your account.
In a shared budget set up with your partner or family, a subscription held by either of you covers both of you; the covered person also uses their own personal budget. Coverage lasts as long as you are in the same shared budget. In a shared budget set up with roommates, everyone takes their own subscription; if a discount applies to people who join by invitation, it is shown on the purchase screen.
Your subscription is yours: it does not pass to anyone else when you leave a shared budget or when the founder changes.
The price, billing period and any discounts are shown clearly on the purchase screen. Purchases are made only in the phone app; the web app shows only your subscription status.
Payment is handled by the store you got the app from: Apple on the App Store, Google on Google Play. That store’s rules apply. We do not see or store your card details.
You can manage and cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings or, on Google Play, under Payments & subscriptions. For App Store purchases, refund requests are handled by Apple; for Google Play purchases, you can request a refund through Google Play.
Prices may change with prior notice. A change takes effect at the end of your current subscription period.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose.
You may not attempt to breach the security of the app or its infrastructure, disrupt the service, send excessive automated requests, or access other users’ data.
You may not use shared budgets or invitation codes to harass or mislead others, or to add people to a shared budget they do not want to be in.
You may not reverse engineer, decompile or copy the app without permission.
If you breach these rules, we may suspend or close your account.
7. Your content
The data you enter belongs to you. We process it on your behalf solely to provide the service; we do not use it for anything else and we do not sell it.
Records you add to a shared budget are used together with the people in that shared budget; they stay there for the other members even if you leave the shared budget or delete your account.
The app itself (its name, logo, design and software) belongs to us and is protected by copyright. Your right to use the app is a non-transferable licence limited to personal use.
8. Availability
We will keep developing the app; features may change, be added or be removed over time.
The service may be interrupted temporarily due to maintenance, technical faults or issues at third-party providers. Uninterrupted operation is not guaranteed.
If we discontinue the service entirely, you will be given reasonable notice so that you can export your data.
9. Limitation of liability
The app is provided “as is”. We are not responsible for the accuracy of the data entered or for the financial decisions you make.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, loss of profit or loss of data. You are advised to review your data regularly and to keep important information elsewhere as well.
This limitation does not affect the statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded by contract.
10. Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. You will be informed in the app when something material changes. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts and enforcement offices of Istanbul have jurisdiction.
If you are a consumer living in the European Union or another country, the rights granted to you by your local consumer law that cannot be excluded by contract remain reserved.
